SEPT À HUIT - C’est une vallée perdue où, depuis le XVème siècle, on extrait les plus beaux rubis du monde. Des pierres qui se négocient parfois plus de deux millions de dollars.

Dans la région de Mogok, au nord de la Birmanie, près de 20.0000 personnes, soit 9 habitants sur 10, creusent le sous-sol dans l’espoir de découvrir un jour la pierre qui les rendra riche. Nous nous sommes sont rendus dans cette vallée longtemps interdite aux étrangers par les militaires au pouvoir.

It is a lost valley where, since the 15th century, the most beautiful rubies in the world have been mined. Stones that sometimes trade for more than two million dollars.

In the Mogok region of northern Burma, nearly 20,000 people, or 9 out of 10, are digging underground in the hope that one day they will find the stone that will make them rich. We went to this valley long forbidden to foreigners by the military in power.
